A PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE & REAL ESTATE IN WHISTLER
CURATED BY

From Kathy
We Come for the Winters.
We Fall in Love with the Summers.
People around the world discover Whistler because of winter.
But ask those of us who live here what surprised us most, and the answer is often summer.
The skis get traded for bikes. The mountains turn green. Days are warm and long. Mornings on the trails, afternoons at the lake, golf, patios and dinners with friends.
After nearly 30 years in real estate, I still love watching the moment when someone realizes Whistler isn't simply somewhere they want to visit.
It's somewhere they can imagine living.
Full-time. Part-time. Or perhaps for the next chapter of life.
That's what I hope to share here: a little real estate, but mostly a perspective on this extraordinary place I'm fortunate to call home.
Kathy

Did You Know?
Whistler Remains Open to International Buyers.
One of the most common misconceptions I hear is that international buyers can no longer purchase Canadian real estate.
Whistler is different.
Whistler currently sits outside the geographic scope of Canada's federal foreign-buyer prohibition and outside the B.C. regions where the additional 20% foreign-buyer property transfer tax applies.
If you've assumed Whistler isn't an option because you're not Canadian:
It may be worth another look.
Individual circumstances vary. Independent legal and tax advice is recommended.

Life Here
Summer, Whistler Style.
One of my favourite things about Whistler is that when ski season ends, we don't wait for winter.
We change equipment.
A morning ride. A swim in the lake.
Something good on a patio. Dinner with friends.
You don't simply own a home in Whistler.
You gain access to a way of spending your time.
Perspective
Nearly 30 Years Changes What You Notice.
Markets change. Regulations change. Buyer expectations change. Whistler changes.
Nearly three decades in real estate, including time as both an Associate Broker and Managing Broker, have taught me that details matter.
Good advice isn't about creating urgency. It's about asking the extra question, anticipating what may matter later, and helping someone make a decision with confidence.
Diligence. Detail. Trust.
Those things never go out of style.

Considering Whistler?
Sometimes the First Step
Is Simply a Conversation.
Resort property. Full-time living. Retirement. Investment. Or simply curiosity.
You don't need to be ready to buy to start the conversation.

A Personal Note
I first lived in Whistler in the 1980s, and years later, I found my way back.
I've been here ever since.
After nearly 30 years in real estate, I've lived and worked in enough places to know that some communities simply stay with you.
Whistler was always one of them.
Even now, I still have moments when I stop, look around and think:
We actually get to live here.
Maybe that's the real Whistler advantage.
